About the Client and his Native:
Seth Arjun Das Goenka Haveli Heritage Museum lies in Dundlod, a small town in the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan. The historically significant Rajasthan houses many havelis, forts, mandirs, and other monuments that boast of the lifestyle, culture, and other aspects of human society.
The twenty-first century needs to know life back in the eighteenth century, hence Shri. Mohan Goenka, the reputed businessman and philanthropist, residing in Chennai wanted to increase the online presence of his family’s ancestral haveli in his native Dundlod, Rajasthan.
His passion to contribute more to society has encouraged him to turn his ancestral haveli into a museum, that can serve as a tourist attraction that exhibits Indian glory.
The Challenge:
The magnificent haveli was built in the year 1875 AD by the then-influential businessman Seth Arjun Das Goenka. The large and functional haveli with extraordinary features reflects the entrepreneurial prowess and contribution of the Goenka family to the region.
The client, Shri. Mohan Goenka wanted to showcase the mastermind behind the haveli, Seth Arjun Das Goenka to the whole world. The client also thought that the haveli would serve as a testimony to the traditional lifestyle and culture of Rajasthanis if exhibited elegantly.
The Support Rendered:
We, at Pixel Studios, had several rounds of discussion with the client to gather data about the haveli and understand the requirements for designing the exotic website. Our team flew to visit the magnificent heritage haveli and capture authentic images and videos of the haveli to use on the website.
The meetings and the visit to the haveli helped us collect images of the artefacts, the classic and exquisite architectural structure, the unique doors, the aesthetic paintings, and other features that highlight the lifestyle and acumen of the people of the period.
The Logo, Entry Ticket & The Google My Business:
We crafted the website with original images, simple content, classical font and elements that give readers a traditional and rustic vibe. The logo for the haveli was designed by keeping in mind the style and feel of ancient times. Brief descriptions were added to the pictures of artefacts for giving the readers a clear idea about the object and its usage. The appealing video virtually transports one to the haveli by providing an exhilarating experience.
In the beginning, the names of the people who wanted to take a look at the haveli were noted on notebooks and our opinion to give tickets to the visitors was immediately welcomed. The tickets were designed exclusively to suit the tone of the haveli. Our team also designed postcards with intricate structures and artefacts in the haveli. We have also added the route and location map of the haveli along with the major tourist attractions to help visitors schedule their trip accordingly.
A Google My Business profile was created with information regarding the haveli heritage museum and its location for easy navigation and visibility.
Results:
- Improved the discoverability of the museum.
- Attracted visitors from across the globe to sight the architectural marvel.
- Helped in reviving the dying haveli culture.
Conclusion:
A website need not necessarily bring business, it can teach, it can impart knowledge, and can add value in unimaginable ways. The website for Goenka Haveli Heritage Museum helped in understanding the haveli culture and how havelis played an integral part in the lives of the people of Rajasthan.
